Official/ Mërgim Berisha signs with new team, 26-year-old part ways with Hoffenheim after a year and a half

Mërgim Berisha parted ways with Hoffenheim after a year and a half stay and has returned to Augsburg on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season for eight million euros.

" FC Augsburg has signed Mergim Berisha on loan from Hoffenheim for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season. The clubs have agreed to keep the details of the loan undisclosed ," Augsburg wrote.

The English team Leeds was also in the running to bring the Kosovar striker closer, but in the end Berisha decided to return to the Bundesliga team.

The Italian team Monza had also expressed interest, as well as two other German clubs, Werder Bremen and Union Berlin.

The 26-year-old underwent a medical and was recently presented by Augsburg.
