Berat Gjimshiti, one of the main pillars of Atalanta's defense, spoke at the press conference before the Champions League match against Slavia Prague.
The defender of the Albanian national team, with 295 appearances in the black and blue jersey, has become one of the leaders of coach Jurić's team.
" The match that awaits us is difficult, all Champions League challenges are like that. Slavia is used to winning in its championship and has very physical players, like striker Shori. I know them well, as I have faced them before ," said Gjimshiti.
The second captain of the Bergamo team emphasized that experience and physical form will be decisive in this match.
" Experience helps a lot. Year after year I'm used to playing important matches continuously, without much time for recovery. Slavia is a match that could determine our path in the group. A victory would be very valuable, not only for points, but also for self-confidence ," he added.
Gjimshiti did not hide his pride in his journey with Atalanta, emphasizing that the desire to give more remains unchanged.
" On paper I am a veteran, but I feel the same hunger as when I started. I am proud of everything I have achieved with this club. I thank the staff and the directors who helped me grow. When I came here, things were different. Now I am very happy and I hope to play another 200 games with Atalanta ," concluded the Albanian defender.
