Kylian Mbappe could have chosen to start his career at Real Madrid a year later. He would have been less of an "enemy" in Paris since he would have finished his contract until the end, but he would also have had 250 million euros more in his account.
This is what the French sports daily "L'Equipe" revealed, which reports that the French striker has lost this crazy amount since the moment he signed for Real and decided to terminate his contract early by activating the release clause.
If Mbappe had stayed in Paris until the end of his contract, in 2025, he would have earned a salary of 70 million euros, an increase of 20% compared to the previous season, as well as bonuses of 180 million euros that would have gone into his accounts. These are gross figures, but they are still staggering amounts, which show how much Mbappe sacrificed when he decided to join Real.
Mbappe is paid 32 million euros per season at Real Madrid, from which he also benefited from a 100 million euro bonus at the time of signing. A total figure that brings his earnings at Real in 5 years to as much as he would have received from PSG if he had stayed there for a single year.
