Flamengo makes history, defeats Palmeiras and wins the Copa Libertadores

Flamengo wrote another page in the history of Latin American football. The Rio de Janeiro club won the Copa Libertadores for the fourth time in its history after defeating Palmeiras 1-0 in an all-Brazilian final, a match played at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru.

With this success, Flamengo becomes the first Brazilian club to win the Copa Libertadores, which is the equivalent of the Champions League in Europe, four times. The one who decided the fate of this final was an old Juventus acquaintance, Danilo, who scored the winning goal for Flamengo in the 67th minute.

The defender, with a header in the area after a corner kick, sent the ball into the net, giving his team the victory. Moreover, Danilo himself with this trophy sets a record as he becomes the first footballer to have won 2 Champions Leagues (2016 and 2017 with Real Madrid) and 2 Libertadores Cups (2011 with Santos and 2025 with Flamengo).
