National team coach Rolando Maran and defender Elseid Hysaj appeared this Saturday at the press conference ahead of the friendly match against Luxembourg. The match will take place tomorrow at the "Air Albania" stadium, at 20:00.
For Hysaj, this challenge is expected to have a special significance, as it could mark his 100th appearance with the Albanian national team. At the same time, coach Maran confirmed that the defender will also wear the captain's armband, taking it from Berat Gjimshiti for this historic match.
Speaking to reporters, Hysaj did not hide his excitement about the threshold of a personal record with the Rossoneri.
" I hope I can play, the coach knows that. It would be a dream for me and a source of pride if I could reach my 100th match tomorrow. Since I was little, I have simply dreamed of playing for the national team, not to mention playing 100 matches with this jersey. For me, it would be a great honor and pride ," said Hysaj.
However, any uncertainty about his activation was immediately clarified by coach Maran. As Hysaj was leaving the conference room, the coach intervened, confirming not only his presence on the field, but also his role as a team leader.
" I assure you that he will play and will also be captain ," Maran declared.
The match against Luxembourg will serve as an important test for the National Team, but also as a special evening for Elseid Hysaj, who is close to one of the most significant achievements in his career with the red and black jersey.
