The Spanish court continues to investigate the scandal of payments made by Barcelona to the former head of referees, Enriquez Negreira. As reported by "El Confidencial", the former judges in La Liga, Antonio Mateu Lahoz, Santiago Latre and Pino Zamorano have testified as witnesses in this case.
In their testimony, they pointed out to investigators the existence of referee dinners organized by the Negreira clan at a bar they owned in Barcelona, as well as karaoke entertainment with Negreira's representative. This also includes trips in luxury cars around town. The statements of Mateu Lahoz, Jaime Latre and Pino Zamorano refer to the month of July 2023 and are part of the summary being investigated by the number one investigative court of Barcelona in relation to the millions of payments that Barça made to the vice-president of the Technical Committee of referees for almost two decades.
Mateu Lahoz told the investigators of the case that he was aware that his colleagues "went for dinner at a restaurant run by Jose's partner María Enriquez Negreiras". However, Lahoz excluded himself from the story by pointing out that he did not accept the offer to be part of the dinner.
