– Do you feel the pressure to be the best scorer in the qualifying group E for "EURO 2024"? For the first time in history, a Moldovan leads the scorers list with two rounds to go.
The pressure is real, but I consider it a source of motivation that gives me the opportunity to expand my skills. I know that all eyes are on me and that the Moldovan fans hope for the success of our team. The fact that I'm top scorer in a group with players like Robert Lewandowski makes me want to keep going.
– What emotions did you experience when you scored the three goals against such a strong opponent as Poland?
Scoring three goals against Poland was a real sensation. Each goal was a combination of ambition, courage and teamwork. A victory over a team like Poland brings not only personal satisfaction, but is also a victory for the whole nation, in our case Moldova. It was definitely an incredible and emotional experience. It is an incomparable feeling to bring joy to Moldovan fans with your goals. I feel like I'm proving to myself and my team that we can compete at a high level.
– How would you characterize the atmosphere in the dressing room of the Moldovan national team before important matches?
There is an atmosphere of concentration in the dressing room before important matches. We are like a family and we support each other because we have a common goal. Each player understands the importance of his role on the field and how important it is to fight for the success of our team.
– How do you assess the progress of the Moldovan national team in this qualifying campaign and which aspects do you consider to be the key to success at the moment?
I believe that our team has made significant progress in this qualifying campaign. The main success factor was the cohesion and teamwork of the coach and the entire team. I learned from every match and approached every opponent with the utmost seriousness.
– What are your expectations from the match with Albania and what is the team's tactic to win the three points in this important match?
The match against Albania is extremely important, probably the most important in the whole qualifier and I'm looking forward to giving everything on the pitch to get the 3 points. Our tactics will be based on strong defence, team play and taking advantage of opportunities. We want to achieve victory for Moldova.
– What would you say to Moldovan fans who dream of the historic entry of the national team into the European Championship?
I convey to our supporters that we know their dream and will fight with all our strength to make it come true. Their desire to see us in the last part motivates us every day. I thank them for their support and encourage them to stay with us on this journey.
– What was the most exciting moment you experienced in the match for the national team of Moldova?
The most exciting moment I experienced in the game for the national team of Moldova was definitely when I scored the first goal for the team. It was a moment of joy and pride at the same time, because I felt that I was making a real contribution to the team's success. Every goal scored for Moldova is special for me. I can't forget the match with Poland, when I broke the record for the most goals for the national team. This was the confirmation of my work and dedication to Moldovan football. I experienced double emotions of joy: both for scoring a goal against Lewandowski's team and for my 12th goal for the national team.
– What does it mean to you to be a role model for young footballers in Moldova and what are your personal and team goals for the near future?
I always try to set a good example through hard work, dedication and fair play. I hope I can inspire young players to pursue their dreams and believe they can make it with the big teams. My personal goal is to continue to develop as a player and help my team reach new heights. Together we try to reach the final rounds of international competitions and please Moldova with our performances.
– How did you adapt to Herenven's style of play and how does it affect your performance for the Moldovan national team?
My experience in Herenven is very valuable. I learned many aspects of playing in a competitive league different from the one in Moldova. This helped me bring new knowledge and skills to the national team. Working with Herenven coaches and players.
