Marcelo is hanging up his boots after 20 years in football. The former Brazilian defender announced the decision on Thursday.

The 36-year-old posts a video on social media where he shows how it all started and the trophies he has won. 6 La Liga titles, 5 Champions Leagues, 3 European Super Cups, 1 Copa Libertadores and 1 Confederations Cup are just some of the trophies won by Marcelo.

" My love for football comes from my grandfather. He wanted me to become a professional footballer and I did everything to make it possible. When I was 18, Real Madrid asked for me and I moved. I can say that I am a true Madrid fan, I have created a family with my wife ," he said, among other things, in the video posted.

At the end, Marcelo appears passing the ball to his sons, saying that Marcelo's story continues.
