The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused the majority of breaking the agreement regarding the Special Commission for Territorial Reform, claiming that the change in the Socialists' position came after the direct intervention of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
From the Parliament podium, Berisha said that there was an agreement between the parties to extend the commission's deadline, while emphasizing that for the opposition, the inclusion of the expertise of European partners remains a non-negotiable condition.
"Boçi, who will speak, has made maximum efforts with Maznik, or the pawn. There was a deal to extend the commission's term. The condition to receive the expertise of the Europeans is non-negotiable for us. It was Rama who ordered his pawn to act completely unilaterally," Berisha said.
The chief democrat also raised concerns that the draft being discussed by the majority aims to reduce 20 municipalities in the country.
"The project discussed by you cuts at least 20 other municipalities, spread across the country ," Berisha declared.
