Flamurtari will start the next season in the First Category, after failing to survive in the Superiore. Despite their efforts until the last week, the Vlora team did not manage to secure a place in the elite of Albanian football.
In the decisive match against Teuta, Flamurtari insisted on winning, as a draw would not serve their survival objective. The match had several tense moments, while the most controversial episode occurred in the 93rd minute.
Flamurtari players claimed a penalty, demanding that Teuta defender Artan Jazxhi touch the ball with his hand. Immediately after the action, the Vlora players protested against referee Eldorjan Hamiti, demanding that the penalty be awarded.
However, the referee decided not to consider the case for a VAR review, allowing the game to continue. The decision caused outrage not only among the players on the field, but also on the Flamurtari bench, as tension rose in the final seconds of the match.
Despite the protests, the result remained unchanged and Flamurtari officially bid farewell to the Superior.
