FIFA President Gianni Infantino has defended the policy of high ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup final, during his speech at the Milken Institute's "Global Conference 2026".
" If someone buys a ticket to the World Cup final for $2 million, I will personally bring them a hot dog and a drink to make sure they have a fantastic experience ," Infantino declared.
The debate over high ticket prices has long dominated discussions in the world of football. According to him, FIFA has received more than 500 million requests for tickets for the next World Cup. For comparison, during the first phase of ticket sales for the 2022 World Cup, which lasted about 20 days, FIFA reported about 17 million requests.
