It's been more than ten years since Michael Shumaker suffered a skiing accident that left him in a coma for a long time, and today little is known about his state of health. The Shumaker family does not come out publicly with answers to the question that interests many, so his fans can only guess what he is like and how dependent he is on others. The family feared that the truth might become public.
The reason for the fear is Cora-Karoline Schumaker, the ex-wife of Michael's younger brother Ralf. She signed up for a survival competition show in the Australian jungle, but after just three days, she "voluntarily" left the set, according to media reports.
A mysterious clause
Bild asks if the reason for her departure from the show is the "mysterious clause that the media has with the Shumaker family". The clause in question prohibits any disclosure of the secrets of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion.
Cora Shumaker, an actress, model, presenter and German car racing competitor, is not among the people allowed to visit Michael. However, the show's executive producers feared that she might go public with unknown information about Shumi's health. "That's why they were relieved after her departure from the show," reports Bild, raising doubts that her departure from filming was voluntary.
Little is known about Shumaker
Kora and Ralf Shumaker divorced in 2015, but she is still in touch with Michael's wife, Korina. The brothers' married children, Mik and David, are both professional racing drivers and also hang out.
Shumaker was in a coma for six months after the accident. Doctors fought for his life in a hospital in Grenoble and after an induced coma he returned to the family home in Switzerland. Since then, he has not been seen in public, very little is known about his health and his family maintains his privacy.
