Jurgen Klop appeared before the media this afternoon for a long-awaited press conference, after his announcement that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the season. The German coach has been bombarded with questions about the reasons for this decision, including rumors of interest from other clubs.
He insisted that it was not about motivation, but about the energy with which this job had to be faced, as he promised that he would never manage another English club if he continued with training.
" I've been doing this job for the last 24 years now and when you have a career like mine, you invest everything you have. I realized that my source of energy is not inexhaustible, I prefer to put everything into this season. I'm not young anymore and I can't jump as high as I used to for example.
I am who I am and where I am because of the way I am. If I can't do it anymore, then I tell people I'm going to stop. This was not my idea when I signed a new contract. I was 100% convinced that I would make it to 2026. I underestimated my energy level as if it was infinite. It's always been that way, now it's not anymore.
I have never lived a normal life. This is true. Having 3-4 weeks in the summer was enough, but not anymore. No club, no national team for next year. No other English club ever. I can promise you that. It won't happen even if I don't have anything to eat ," the German coach told reporters.
