In an interview for "Top Channel", the coach of the Albanian national team shows behind the scenes. What happened? Did he have doubts about continuing with our national team? " No, no no, I didn't have any and I didn't go looking for it either. I always say that the coach's life is difficult but very beautiful. I never thought that one day I would come and lead the national team of Albania, we are in different parts of the globe, but life has placed us in this very beautiful country. Doriva and I live in Tirana and we are living this challenge, it is very beautiful. Everyone has to give their contribution and in this form we managed to go to the European for the second time and it's not easy at all, you know ", he said.
How is his new contract, did he get more money, or was President Duka the one who increased the demands on the technical staff more in terms of objectives?
Silvinjo: The relationship with the Federation and especially with the president is very good. We know our responsibilities, we had the challenge of qualifying for the European Championship and we achieved it, but all together, at no single moment do I think that it was me and I did it or my staff alone. But we know what our challenge is, we have the League of Nations that we are working on, we have already started work on Georgia and Ukraine, we also have a very difficult opponent, the Czech Republic. We have to work hard and improve, always having one goal, qualifying for the World Cup.
However, the European, among many beautiful emotions experienced and given, also had discussions, dissatisfactions and losers, which were some players who were not involved in this historic event for us.
Silvinho: I can say that we are now lucky, in the sense that we have about 35 players to play with, but I should have taken 23, 25 or 26. Then I am the one who has to decide, luckily good or bad. As for Uzun, he has played with us as a wing player in attack, while at his club he plays as a center forward or as a second attacker. He made a sacrifice with us, he played and gave his best, but he is a striker and there, in his club, he plays as a striker. After discussing it we thought that he is simply a striker and in the position where we used him we should try another player. This is just a name, a position, but we can talk about all 35 or 40 players we have. I understand his position and the upset that I was alone, for example I tried to stay on the bench, to be taken to the stand or once my contract ended and they told me, we don't need you anymore. I've done it all. But I'm a professional and the only thing I'm not allowed to do is not reason with my heart, because I have responsibilities to the federation, the people and the whole country.
Yes, was what we saw in the qualifiers and in the European Championship the best of Silvinho, is he afraid of a story that for us is "déjà vu" like the one with De Biaz, when in his second attempt he left in the middle of the edition?
Silvinho: The life of a coach is much worse than that of a footballer. The players have a contract and are kept there, while the coach also has a contract, but things change and anything can happen. I'm very happy with the work done so far and the Federation is too, so we have to try, then if something happens and say it's in December, January or June, I can't make predictions.
What is the best that Silvinjo gave Albania and the mistake he made with Albania?
Silvinho: European qualification. This is the best part for me, it was a dream. Meanwhile, the worst thing that happened to me? I'm a demanding person and why we had a very difficult group, it was the opportunity we had and we didn't manage to go to the 8th and we didn't go.
How will our national team play in this second era of Silvinho, to go to the World Cup, but also to the League of Nations?
Silvinho: The best thing we had and I must emphasize is the game module that we changed from the qualifiers to the European finals. It was different.
