"Against Poland difficult, but not impossible", Silvinjo on the eve of

The coach of the Albanian national football team, Silvinjo, has expressed optimism about the possibility of Albania qualifying for the 2026 World Cup finals, although he considers it a very difficult challenge.

In an interview for the “MisterChip” podcast in Spain, the Brazilian coach stressed that the road to the World Cup is not easy, but remains feasible. “Getting to the World Cup finals is very difficult, but not impossible,” said Silvinjo, trying to motivate the Albanian team and fans.

He also recalled his three-year experience at the helm of the National Team and expressed his desire to realize the dream of many Albanians: Albania's participation in a World Cup.

During the interview, the Brazilian coach also spoke about his personal feelings. He emphasized that if Albania manages to qualify for the final stage of the World Cup, Brazil will be the second team he will cheer for.

According to him, a key element for the team remains confidence, especially after the recent results and preparations for the upcoming challenges. Silvinjo believes that with dedication and confidence, the Albanian National Team can aim for one of the greatest achievements in its history.

"Carlo Ancelotti as Brazil coach? Ancelotti is one of the best coaches in the world, he has a fantastic CV. He has played for the best clubs in the world and I see that he speaks Portuguese very well. He is an example to follow and I follow his interviews. I want to wish him a good World Cup, but not against Albania, always if we go. We still have two games left, first against Poland .

Albania? We have the match against Poland, a very difficult team. It will be a very difficult match. If I go to the World Cup I will cheer for Albania, then for Brazil .

Lewandowski not in the best form, you should take advantage - When he is in the best form he scores a goal every 45 minutes .

Was the win against Serbia the most important? Will you repeat it against Poland?

I have been in Albania for three years. After an experience with the Brazilian national team as an assistant, I realized that if I am going to take a national team I have to do the work within this country. I live in Tirana together with Dorivan, the assistant. Pablo Zabaleta, who left football a while ago and you know him well, gives us a lot of help as an assistant, but he lives in Barcelona most of the time.

Together we did a three-year project, the results are good and we have a very good, organized team. The players understand what we want. They play very good football, they have desire, technique, their shots are good and they like this 'magic' that is coming, they have passion.

We won away from home in Serbia against a very complicated team and a very difficult match. We have played in the European Championship against Spain, Italy or Croatia, as well as against rivals like the Czech Republic, Poland or England. These are matches that give you confidence.

Now we are in the play-offs, it is difficult, but not impossible. We play away against Poland, but we are a team that knows what we want and where we can go; we will fight for this, for the team, the country and for the people who are in love with the players and the game. We are satisfied with the results we have obtained, but we have a lot of responsibility for the future .

Poland? We mentioned Lewandowski a little earlier, but we can also talk about six of their names who have a high level. We will try and be there .

How did you experience the victory in Serbia?

Living in Albania has given me the opportunity to understand how the people are, the country, the geopolitical aspect. I understood a lot of things to convey to the players what we wanted. We only went for beautiful football, we wanted to play well. We didn't want any problems with UEFA and FIFA on or off the field.

The idea was 'win this game and go home', we did well there. We were all very happy to reach the play-offs because it was the only way, because England as the first of the Group had made history.

Do you remember the potential rivals for the World Cup? Holland, Tunisia and Japan. We are very clear about our path, it will not be easy, but nothing is impossible. We have the respect of our opponents, we have very good players who play in strong leagues. I have a lot of confidence in the players I have, also from their form. I repeat, the World Cup is not impossible , "said Silvinjo.

The 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 this year in the USA, Mexico and Canada, and will be the first World Cup with 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four teams each.

If we get past the two rivals, Albania will be part of Group F along with the Netherlands, Japan and Tunisia.
