French media and beyond have recently been constantly reporting on a possible return of Neymar to Europe and specifically to Ligue 1 in France.
According to these reports, it is Olympique de Marseille that has started the first talks with Santos about a possible transfer of Neymar. The Brazilian is very much in favor of returning to Europe, as he wants to be in super shape for the 2026 World Cup. Given that he knows Ligue 1 very well, Neymar is enthusiastic about the idea of returning to France.
Recall that Neymar played in Ligue 1 for 6 seasons with PSG, where he was transferred from Barcelona in 2017 for 222 million euros, the most expensive transfer in history. In 173 matches with the Parisians, Neymar scored 118 goals and provided 79 assists.
His return to Ligue 1 and transfer to Olympique de Marseille would be a sensational blow, especially given the historic rivalry between the two French clubs. If this transfer happens, then Neymar would undoubtedly be the biggest "traitor" for PSG fans.
