Barcelona president Joan Laporta has expressed his utmost confidence in coach Hansi Flick, describing the German as the ideal figure to lead the club's project, as well as praising his impressive work and character.
"Flick will have a contract for as long as he wants if I am president," Laporta stressed. He added that "for us, it was important to have someone with his experience and knowledge, but if he is a phenomenon as a coach, he is even more so as a person."
"He knows the club very well and will gain more experience. He didn't want more years of experience, but he is the ideal coach for these years at Barca, and thanks to him, we are experiencing a very sweet moment."
While the Blaugrana are keen to extend Flick's contract, which expires in 2027, the German coach is reportedly unwilling to talk about his future before knowing the results of this year's presidential election.
