Now that I have entered this stadium, I see that tomorrow will be an important match. Even seeing so many journalists here gives me this feeling. The coach said something true, there was no time to think about the future because we had a lot of games. You understand this at the end of the season.
Tomorrow you start as underdogs this time, could that be an advantage?
I don't know if we were favorites against Juventus, it's a big team used to finals. Tomorrow I don't think there are any favorites, we will think about ourselves.
Leverkusen are unbeaten, could this be a burden for the Germans?
It may be, but the desire to be the first to beat them can also be a drive for us. We will try.
How have you seen Atalanta grow in recent years?
We've seen a lot of players come and go: De Run and I are always the same, but I think the thing we've always had within us is the awareness to always want to improve. This is the path of the coach, the one to make the players as strong as possible. In all these years, experience also plays its role, this is a very important awareness that we are in Europe.
On a personal level, how much do you think you have matured?
I think that certainly in many things, with all these years of experience with Atalanta, there is an awareness that we are competitive. I have not set myself limits for improvement, I think it has gone well and as a team there is no end to things. You can always improve.
