
The first three teams to secure qualification for the Conference League quarterfinals have been determined, while one match still remains open and will be decided after extra time.
In Athens, AEK, featuring Albanian goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, was defeated 0-2 by Celje. However, the Greek team secured qualification thanks to a comprehensive 0-4 victory in the first leg held in Slovenia, advancing to the quarterfinals on aggregate.
Mainz is the other team to advance, after a 2-0 home win over Czech side Sigma Olomouc. Both goals came in the second half, with Stefan Posh scoring in the 46th minute and Armindo Sieb sealing the win in the 82nd minute.
Fiorentina secured their place in the quarter-finals after a 1-2 away win over Rakout. The Italians had also won the first leg 1-0 at the “Artemio Franchi”, thus ensuring their qualification on aggregate.
In Cyprus, the match between AEK Larnaca and Crystal Palace ended 1-1 in regular time. As the first leg also ended in a 0-0 draw, the winner will be determined in extra time.
The Cypriot team is playing with one less player after the second yellow card sent off of Enrik Sabor, the goal scorer for the home team. Ismaila Sarr scored for Crystal Palace.
