The Albanian U-19 national team starts gathering tomorrow in Koverçano, Italy, as part of the August 9 friendly, against the 'Axurres', the European champions for this age group. For three days in a row, the 20 Reds and Blacks selected by coach Ervin Bulku and the national staff of this age group will train in the center of Koverçano, while the friendly against Italy is also planned on August 9.
At the start of the gathering, the coach of the red and black team, Ervin Bulku, in a statement for fshf.org, commented on the group of footballers gathered for this important friendly against the European champions, where he emphasizes that despite the strength of the opponent, his team will best to get an encouraging result.
"The group is more or less the same, as it was with the previous age groups, at U-17 and U-15. There are few changes. We are trying to form the group to be ready for the qualifiers. Now we will watch the team in this match with Italy. It has become a tradition now, it is the third year in a row that we organize it, seeing the extraordinary relations that our Federation has with the Italian Federation. This time we have only one friendly match.
Let's not forget that the Italian team has just been declared European champions in Malta. I think we have received all the players who are training in the first teams where they belong, all the players who will be ready have done a preparatory phase. We hope to give the best possible performance and find a prepared team, as the strength of the opponent is known. We are going to do everything we can, to see closely the situation that the players are going through and to form a group as strong as possible to face the European matches" - says coach Bulku for fshf.org, while underlining that the 20 players collected do not constitute the final group that will represent Albania in the upcoming U-19 European qualifiers.
" We cannot say that we will form the final group, because it is known that the qualifying matches of the European Championship are in November and there is time. Anything can happen on the road, there can be players who are not in good shape. I hope we don't have any injured players. We have four more friendly matches available after the match with Italy. We will do our best to create a group that is as solid as possible for the qualifying matches " - says coach Bulku, among other things.
The red and black coach reveals that he and the staff of the U-19 national team are in constant contact with the players of this age group and have closely monitored them all this time. Coach Bulku hopes that the team led by him will be in the right shape in the match against Italy and show a level against their peers.
" The staff and I have been in contact with the players all the time, we talk to them every day, we ask them about everything they do in their teams. We are monitoring them closely at all times. It is true that they can be a bit busy, but let's not forget that they have played 2-3 or even more friendly matches. We hope that they will be in the right shape and show the best possible level, so that we, as a staff, can make the right assessments and be as prepared as possible for the championship, which is the most important thing for us as a national team. " - concludes the coach of the U-19 national team, Ervin Bulku.
