Manchester City returned to winning ways in the Premier League after a dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton last week. The Citizens defeated Brentford 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in a match that was valid for the 36th week of the English championship.
Pep Guardiola's team struggled to break the deadlock despite dominating most of the game. The opening goal came only in the 62nd minute, when Zheremi Doku scored a superb goal with a powerful shot from inside the area.
The Citizens further secured the victory in the 75th minute through Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker was accurate near the goal, sending the ball into the net after an assist from Antoin Semenjo.
In extra time, Omar Marmush sealed the final score 3-0, completing a positive evening for the defending champions.
The win leaves Manchester City in second place with 74 points, just two behind leaders Arsenal. Both teams still have three games left to play before the end of the season. Arsenal will travel to West Ham tomorrow.
