The new coach of the Albanian National Team, Rolando Maran, is expected to publish this week the list of players assembled for the two friendly matches against Israel and Luxembourg, which the Rossoneri will play next week.
The Albanian Football Federation has previously distributed invitations to a large number of players, while the Italian coach will then select the final group with which he will start working on the eve of these challenges. The two friendlies will also serve as the first step in building the team that Albania will present in the next edition of the Nations League.
Among the names that have received an invitation is striker Kristian Shpendi. The Cesena footballer has stood out in recent seasons in the Italian Serie B, becoming one of the most important players on his team and confirming his qualities as a goalscorer.
Shpendi has so far only made one appearance with the red and black jersey, in a friendly against Gibraltar, a match in which he won the penalty that decided the match in favor of Albania with a score of 1-0.
Sources close to the team indicate that his name is part of Maran's preliminary list, while during the week it is expected to be learned whether the striker will also be in the final list of the National Team. The final group is expected to retain most of the players who were part of the team under the guidance of former coach Silvinjo.
