Craig Gordon

Veteran Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon has been included in the national team's list for the 2026 World Cup. Coach Steve Clarke on Tuesday announced the 26-man squad that will take part in the tournament that starts on June 11.

The 43-year-old is one of three goalkeepers selected by the Scottish national team and could go down in history as the second oldest player to ever appear at a World Cup.

If he plays in the World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, Gordon will join Egypt goalkeeper Essam El Hadary as the oldest player to play in a World Cup. El Hadary was 45 years old when he appeared in Russia 2018.

Craig Gordon plays for Scottish club Hearts and has been a member of the Scotland national team since 2004. During his career with the national team, he has played 83 matches.
