Unai Emery urged his Aston Villa players to "write history" by recording a memorable victory over Paris Saint-Germain to advance to the Champions League semi-finals.
Villa must overturn a two-goal first-leg defeat in France and the English team's manager redoubled his belief that his team can cause an upset.
Emery is confident that the "castle" atmosphere at Villa Park on Tuesday can help his players find a winning formula.
Emery said PSG's 3-1 lead does not change the task at hand.
"I have experiences that come from results, both positive and negative," he said, adding that "now it's something different, we want to write history here with Aston Villa. Last year we played in the Conference League and this year in the Champions League. Now we hope to be in Europe for a long time. My experiences before were different ... sometimes losing away and winning at home, sometimes losing at home and winning away. More wins than losses ... but I've had some negative experiences too."
Emery won the Europa League with Sevilla in 2014, his first major European trophy.
Emery dismissed suggestions that PSG could be fresher in the second leg against Aston Villa, having not played in the French league at the weekend while Villa faced Southampton.
"We have a habit of playing a lot of games in a row, three games a week, and so do they," said the Villa manager.
England striker Morgan Rogers, a key player for Villa this season, echoed Emery's claims that atmosphere could be the secret ingredient in any comeback.
