The escalation of tensions in the Middle East has also had consequences for sporting activities involving Albania. The friendly between the Albanian U-21 national team and Japan, scheduled to take place in Antalya, Turkey, at the end of this month, has been canceled.
The decision is related to the security situation in the region following drone and missile attacks launched by Iran against several Gulf countries, as well as other areas including Cyprus and Turkey.
This is the second friendly match to be cancelled for the U-21 national team this period, following the previously scheduled match against the United States of America. Both matches were scheduled to take place in Antalya.
The security situation in the region has forced the organizers and relevant federations to review the calendar of matches planned for this period.
