The Albanian national football team learned their opponents for the next edition of the Nations League this evening. The draw held in Brussels placed Albania in Group C1, along with Belarus, Finland and San Marino.
However, the red and black team remains focused on the closest and most important sporting objective: the 2026 World Cup play-off matches, which will take place in March.
In a statement to the official website of the Albanian Football Federation (fshf.org), the national team coach, Silvinjo, emphasized the importance of the current moment and the team's focus.
" It's always a very difficult, very beautiful competition. It's played in a very fast way, it lasts practically two-three months. This time it's done in two months. Everything is played very quickly, it's a beautiful competition. We've seen a lot of strong teams here ," said the red and black coach.
He underlined that, despite the draw, the team's mind is focused on the crucial challenges of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
" It is not easy for us to even think about the Nations League, because for about a month and a half we have been working on the play-offs. It is a very important thing for all of us, as a federation and as a country. Now we are waiting for the right moment to come. A group that is always very difficult, but at this moment we are thinking about the play-offs in March ," Silvinjo declared for fshf.org.
Thus, while the draw has determined Albania's path in the Nations League, the Albanian representative intends to focus its energies and preparations on the March matches, which are considered key to the major objective of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
