About 10 million euros from UEFA for Albanian football in the 2024-2025 season,

Albanian football has benefited from around 10 million euros during the 2024-2025 edition from UEFA's solidarity payment scheme, according to financial statements recently published by the organization that runs European football.

In total, according to the official document, a little over 9.9 million euros have been collected, distributed between the Albanian Football Federation (AFF) and Albanian clubs. This amount does not include the direct income that the AFF benefits from for the National Team, such as bonuses for victory, participation or television rights.

Benefits of the AFF

From the declared funds, the Albanian Football Association has benefited from around 2.3 million euros for various investments, as well as another 2.8 million euros calculated by UEFA as administrative income. These funds are considered part of the ongoing financial support that the European organization provides to its member federations.

The figures indicate a stable flow of income for the country's leading football institution, increasing its financial capacity for developing projects and covering operational expenses.

Clubs' income from Europe

Albanian clubs that participated in European competitions last season benefited in total over 2.5 million euros.

According to the data:

880 thousand euros have been allocated to Egnatia for participation in the Champions League;

Over 1.7 million euros have been allocated for participation in the Conference League between Egnatia, Vllaznia, Partizan and Tirana.

These amounts are related to participation in the respective competition tours and constitute an important source of income for the clubs.

Solidarity payments and women's football

Another important item is the record amount of 2.14 million euros, which the Albanian Football Association must distribute to clubs through the solidarity scheme. Meanwhile, 101 thousand euros have been benefited from women's football.

The solidarity scheme aims to support clubs that fail to participate directly in the main stages of European competitions, guaranteeing a wider distribution of income within the system.

Ongoing support and new financial decisions

The data confirms that Albanian clubs continue to benefit from significant revenues from UEFA, even beyond direct sporting results. In addition to solidarity funds and benefits from participation in Europe, the Albanian Football Association, having a high income flow from the European organization, has decided to allocate an additional 3 million euros to the clubs of the Superiore and the First Category during the calendar year 2026.

However, it remains to be seen how these funds will be specifically distributed and what long-term impact they will have on the development of Albanian football, both in terms of sports and infrastructure.
