Italian football is facing a complicated situation after the revelation of a scandal related to escort services, where the events agency "Ma.De" is at the center of the investigation. Authorities are investigating this structure for suspicions of favoritism and exploitation of prostitution.
In recent hours, the media have published the names of several footballers who are suspected of having benefited from these services. Among them is Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, who has reacted through the Conte law firm.
The player's legal representatives have issued an official statement, categorically denying any involvement of their client in this matter. According to them, Kalafiori's name does not appear in any official document of the investigation being conducted against the persons involved.
' We would like to underline that our client's name does not appear in any act of the investigation that is being carried out into Messrs. Butini-Ronçi and their activities, which should emphasize the only objectively known circumstance, namely that Mr. Calafiori has no connection with all this - emphasized among others the lawyers of the Arsenal footballer. Although it is specified that Calafiori's name is not the result of a document check, but a keyword search as stated in the search decree, it is truly disturbing that his name was published anyway, despite any care or professional ethics. Moreover, there is no public interest in distributing news that is not just that, given that the investigation, for which careless publications have been made, does not affect Mr. Calafiori because it has absolutely no connection ,' conclude the lawyers of the Arsenal footballer.
Lawyers have also expressed concern about the publication of the player's name in the media, stressing that he was mentioned not as a result of investigative documents, but as a result of a keyword search.
According to them, the publication of this information raises serious questions about professional ethics and lack of public interest, as the investigation in question does not involve Kalafiori in any way.
