The U-19 representative of Kosovo has written history in youth football, defeating Spain, with a dramatic result of 4-3, in a spectacular challenge held at the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium in Pristina. This impressive victory comes within the qualifying matches of Group 10 for the 2025 European Championship and confirms the fighting character and extraordinary talent of "Dardans" led by Adil Maliqi.
The match began with Spain dominating, scoring twice within 26 minutes through Pau Prim and Oskar Marcos, taking a 2-0 lead and putting Kosovo in a difficult situation.
However, the "Dardans" showed an incredible competitive spirit and reacted strongly, overturning everything in the first half. In the 28th minute, Kosovo narrowed the gap to 2-1 with a beautiful goal by Dior Gërbovc. Just six minutes later, Edion Gashi scored a spectacular goal, leveling the score at 2-2 and igniting the atmosphere in the stadium.
In the 41st minute, Kosovo's pressure resulted in a mistake by Spanish goalkeeper Raul Jimenez, who after a corner kick from Edison Gashi headed the ball into his own net, giving Kosovo a 3-2 lead before the break.
The second half started with a quick reaction from Spain. Omar Zhaneh tied the score in the 47th minute with a Eurogoal, turning the match into an open and exciting duel until the end.
The tension and dynamics on the pitch reached a peak during the final minutes. In extra time, the hero of the match, Elvir Gashijani, scored an incredible goal, securing the historic victory of Kosovo with the result 4-3. His goal was the culmination of an excellent performance by the U-19 National Team.
The last match of this qualifying tournament for the European Championship 2025 will take place on Tuesday, November 19, at 12:00, against the Faroe Islands, again at the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium. Now Kosovo must win in the third match, but everything about the qualification is decided by the result of the next Austria-Spain match.
