SPAK prosecutors and BKH agents have been distributed today throughout the country in function of the plan of measures to prevent or combat electoral crimes.
Reports indicate that prosecutors, accompanied by BKH agents, have held meetings with heads of district prosecutors' offices, as well as with heads of the District Police, with the aim of coordinating actions and work in order to prevent electoral crimes.
According to data, 2 SPAK prosecutors have been engaged in the Durrës, Elbasan and Fier Regions, who will be accompanied by BKH agents.
These districts are considered high-risk for electoral crime, and will therefore be staffed by two prosecutors from the Special Prosecution Office. Meanwhile, Tirana, as the largest district, will be supervised by three SPAK prosecutors and BKH agents.
According to reports, SPAK prosecutors and BKH agents will be on standby throughout today and tomorrow, while a toll-free number has been installed, where any citizen can file complaints if they have information or are a witness to electoral crimes.
The most widespread phenomenon of electoral crimes is vote buying, or the intimidation of voters through criminal groups or persons in positions of power.
