The head of the DP, Lulzim Basha, presented today (June 1, 2024) an electoral program that paves the way for the launch of her campaign for the parliamentary elections expected to be held in June 2025.

According to Basha's program, 5,000 boys and girls aged 18-22 who commit to 4 years in the army will be paid as reservists until the age of 45.
In his opening speech, Basha said that PD is the only political force in Albania that can draw up a genuine program for the development of the country, as this party is not only interested in the problems of the democrats, but of all Albanians.
"You started from the cities, from the villages, from the homes for this programmatic assembly, aware that the DP is the only political force that organizes a genuine programmatic assembly because we live not only with the problems of the democrats but also of the citizens", said Basha. .
Among the electoral promises are the return of the national gendarmerie.
"The Democratic Party pledges to establish the national gendarmerie, the elite force of Albania with 1,000 members. An elite force against corruption and organized crime," said Basha.
Another promise is the removal of visas with the USA within the first 4 years.
"In cooperation with our strategic partners, we will enable Albania to move forward in the fight against corruption and real reforms that will bring prosperity. Today I express my personal conviction and commitment that an Albania led by the reformed DP reformed in every sector will enable the removal of visas with the USA within our first 4 years' said Basha.
Basha reiterated his support for justice institutions.
"The corruption of this government is the very reason for the existence of the reformed bodies of justice that reconfirm from this hall the unconditional support of the Democratic Party to bring corrupt government officials to trial and behind bars," said Basha.
