Israeli Ambassador Galit Peleg stated that our country is not threatened by Iran.
According to her, Iran poses a threat to the entire world, but as she herself emphasized, there is no concrete threat to Albania and, if there were such a threat, the Israeli embassy would notify the Albanian authorities.
"Regarding the threat to Albania, I am not aware of any specific threat to Albania. I cannot say that Albania is in focus, but you can ask Mottaba Kameney about that. Perhaps Britain has a specific threat of missile attacks, but nothing is known about other forms, since this regime has organized terrorist cells in Europe. As I said, it poses a threat to all of Europe and the whole world, but I do not know of a specific threat to Albania. Albania is a close ally of Israel, we have close cooperation and, if there is any threat, of course we will inform the Albanian authorities.
But let me add something, since the beginning of this war, but also before, as ambassador, we have had a wonderful cooperation with the Albanian Police and the Ministry of Interior. This cooperation is at every level and I think it is an opportunity to thank you for my security and my staff.
Israeli diplomats are always at risk. As for the risk in Albania, fortunately there has been no incident, and this is thanks to the cooperation between your security forces. We believe that something will never happen, but the risk exists. A few days ago was the anniversary of the bombing of Buenos Aires, which was carried out by a faction of Hezbollah, supported by the Iranian state, but there have been other cases that have been prevented thanks to cooperation with local authorities. But these are the things that ordinary people do not see.
"In a friendly country like Albania, I see no threats, but we must be careful, as enemies are everywhere. Therefore, let us hope that the situation in Albania remains safe, but we must be vigilant," the Ambassador told "Euronews Albania".
