Mark Nika, the uncle of Aleks Nika, spoke to the media after the meeting he held this Tuesday with the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, regarding the progress of the investigations into the January 21 case, expressing criticism of the pace and depth of the investigative process.
After the meeting, Nika described the investigation as "cursory" and raised concerns about the lack of concrete results, even after 15 years from the event.
"There is no person on the charge. SPAK says we are working. We are waiting now, they have it on the clock how the investigation will go, we have our claims. Our observation is that the investigation should be faster, all the people who have knowledge have not been called, starting with the prime minister's office at that time, the guards.
It is a serious crime, we will continue to pursue it until the truth is revealed. We have asked, for example, the former secretary of the council of ministers, the IT server employees, they have not been called because I don't know why they say they are unnecessary. The investigation is superficial for me, 15 years is a long time. We will take all measures to clarify the matter. The tape is for re-examination, it seems they have not sent it yet.
"I asked to meet with Mr. Braho. We don't have time to wait. This matter should have been concluded, it is unacceptable, because all Albanians are asking why the murderers are not going to court. The murderers are distinguished by the organization of the protest. The state is responsible. It does not organize to go and be killed," he said.
