The Special Appeal rejected the request of the former head of the Albanian Road Authority Evis Berberi for changing the security measure.
Barber asked for a lighter measure than that of "prison arrest", a request which was not taken into account by judge Saida Dollani.
The former head of ARRSH has been held in the detention cell since March 16 of this year. Together with him, Valter Begaj and Ervis Lami were put in handcuffs.
The latter was released some time ago by the first instance, but the Special Appeal returned him to the cell again, after the appeal of the decision of GJKKO by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
From the investigations of the prosecution body, it was found that Berberi, during the time he was in charge of the Agency for Energy Efficiency but also in charge of ARRSH, awarded six tenders to the company of his partner Valter Begaj and then the profits went to the company he owned in indirectly.
The two businessmen Lami and Begaj are suspected to have made a fictitious sale of the company of the former head of ARRSH and other fictitious actions, making it possible to hide the crime of corruption, in cooperation with Berberi.
The SPAK investigation shows that the benefit was about 2.2 million euros that were invested by the company "DAAM" shpk, in real estate.
