'CEZ-DIA' affair, Adriatik Doçi: SPAK has evidence that proves

Journalist Adriatik Doçi reviewed some of the evidence in the "CEZ-DIA" case, which, according to him, shows that Ilir Meta, now a defendant by SPAK, was the architect and main beneficiary of this affair.

"The SPAK investigation has hit and interrupted a metastasis, one of the most dangerous metastasis of corruption in politics and the pyramid of the Albanian state. The file is packed with facts and evidence, with testimony, with the tracking of the money trail, with the TIMS system, with hotel bills and telephone connections. So there is a whole set of evidence and testimonies that prove the corruption of the couple Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi",  said Doçi in an interview for "ReportTv".

According to Doçi, in addition to some irrefutable evidence, in the "CEZ-DIA" file, 3 pieces of evidence that have helped SPAK in its investigations are highlighted as the most essential. One of them is that of Elvis Mataj, former executive director of DIA and previously a senior exponent of the Socialist Movement for Integration.

" It is about 3 key pieces of evidence that have helped SPAK to unravel one of the main episodes of Ilir Meta's corruption related to the CEZ-DIA case. The most important evidence of SPAK that was served to it through an audio recording by a colleague of ours is that of Elvis Mataj, who was the executive director of the DIA company that collected CEZ's bad debt, where only money was passed, and Elvis Mataj was the chairman of LRI in 2005 and one of Ilir Meta's most trusted people. It is evidence that Elvis Mataj, threatened forever by Ilir Meta that he had gotten out of control, because if you look at the SPAK file, all the other colleagues have lied, Edmond Haxhinasto, Monika Kryemadhi, Pirro Xhixho, Kastriot Ismailaj who also went to prison. Kastriot Ismailaj constantly lies in SPAK, defending Meta's albina. Meanwhile, Elvis Mataj, who was the executive director of DIA (Kastriot Ismaili was the formal owner on paper), has recounted the entire behind-the-scenes and tracking of the money trail, the requests Meta made, the instructions Meta gave to these two, because Kastriot Ismailaj and Elvis Mataj were Ilir Meta's main people to do this job.

Specifically, on August 4, 2010, after Meta had entered the government with Sali Berisha, Kastriot Ismailaj and Elvis Mataj founded the DIA company in a tax haven and formally registered it in Albania. On September 1, the CEZ board supposedly met, where Meta later also introduced Kastriot Ismailaj to the CEZ board, and met to sign the agreement for the collection of debts with the DIA company. On that day, no agreement was signed because there was no agreement, I always refer to the SPAK file with evidence and facts, and on that same day, 1 million euros were immediately transferred from the CEZ account to the DIA company account. Later, 500 thousand euros were transferred, and others amounting to 6.5 million euros. "There was no documentation, it was all a fictitious scheme, they would simply pass through CEZ, which took it from Albanians through lowering the price of energy and other maneuvers, collected the money and passed it to DIA. Kastriot Ismailaj, through the DIA company, immediately contracted other companies, behind which stood officials who were close associates of Ilir Meta, and passed money from CEZ to DIA and distributed it to other companies without doing any work, they just took the money and put it in their pockets ," the journalist said.

Another important piece of evidence that refutes Ilir Meta's alibi is that of Czech Jozef Jesek, the former administrator of CEZ in Albania.

"When he was Foreign Minister, Meta went to the Czech Republic and the former administrator of CEZ in Albania, Jozef Jesek, in the process that Albania had with CEZ in arbitration, confessed that Ilir Meta came to us in the Czech Republic and put us as a condition, along with the late former ambassador Qazim Trepshi who lost his life under completely mysterious circumstances, and Jozef Jesek says that Ilir Meta asked us to entrust Kastriot Ismailaj with the debt collection process ," said Doçi.

Also, evidence that supports the accusations against Ilir Meta is that of Vojsava Ismailaj, the wife of Kastriot Ismailaj.

"Vojsava Ismailaj, who is the wife of Kastriot Ismailaj, has confessed that Ilir Meta constantly demanded large sums of money from her husband, due to his corrupt engagement that had finalized that corrupt agreement with CEZ, so he had intervened ," said Doçi.
