Criminalistics expert, Ervin Karamuço, revealed important data on the SPAK operation at the Agricultural University of Tirana.
According to him, the operation was launched after a tip-off from an insider from this institution, who notified the police of problems and corruption related to university tenders.
After verifications, the police identified elements of criminal offenses and referred the case to SPAK (Special Structure for Corruption and Organized Crime).
" It is suspected that there was a whistleblower, a public signaler from within the university. This individual, for various reasons, may have had rivalries with certain groups within the institution. These groups, which may have had disagreements with the university leaders, have signaled the police about suspicious activities. The police have carried out verifications and found evidence of criminal actions, whether in relation to tenders or corruption. Thus, they have referred the case to SPAK ," Karamuço said on "Now".
Karamuço explained that, after the case was referred, SPAK has launched investigations and carried out other procedures, including questioning the individuals involved. According to him, the investigative actions have led to the court taking security measures in recent days.
