Smith left open the possibility of cooperation with the various opposition groups, thus sending a message to the Reestablishment MPs to remove Berisha, in order to fix relations with Britain.
The Ambassador of Great Britain to Albania, Alastair King Smith, citing the political situation in the country, declared that the Parliament should be functional.
In an interview for "Newsline" on ABC News, Smith also emphasized that Great Britain has sanctioned certain individuals and confirmed that there will be no cooperation with them, thus referring to the case of former Prime Minister Berisha.
But further, Smith left open the possibility of cooperation with the various opposition groups, thus sending a message to the deputies of the re-establishment to remove Berisha, in order to fix relations with Britain.
" It is very important that the parliament functions in the interest of democracy and the citizens. This is the responsibility of the opposition, as well as the majority. It is important that all politicians work together towards this goal. The Assembly is the key institution to advance the citizen's interest. The assembly and the committees must function. We have a broad approach, we do not define groups of individuals. There are specific decisions for specific individuals and we are not committed to them. With others we want dialogue, we want engagement. It is not for me to comment on domestic politics.
