The Police Surveillance Agency has started investigations regarding a criminal group distributing narcotics in Tirana.
It is learned that the focus of the investigation is a person, already arrested, originally from Syria, but who also has Albanian citizenship.
According to media sources, the Police Oversight Agency has strong suspicions that the arrested person was involved in the distribution scheme of narcotics and police officers.
Sources indicate that a police officer, who is currently in the anti-drug sector in Shkodër, is involved in the investigation. Previously, he served in the same sector in Tirana.
The operative, whose name has not been made public due to the investigation, gave his vehicle to the Syrian citizen. AMP suspects that the vehicle was used to transport narcotics in order to avoid police checks.
The Police Supervision Agency continues its investigations to find out if there are other officers involved in this criminal scheme.
