Prime Minister Edi Rama made it clear to pensioners that increasing pensions and the end-of-year bonus are two different things.
"It has been said that next year we will distribute the New Year bonus monthly. This is untrue. The year-end bonus will be given exactly as it was given last year. Starting from the beginning of December, there is a bonus that goes to pensioners for the year-end holidays.
Next year, we will start increasing support for pensioners in January, and the increase each coming January will be double the previous January.
So in January 2027 it will be double that of 2026, in January 2028 triple that of 2026. To achieve the support that we have made public and declared throughout the campaign," said Rama.
