GJKKO decided today the measure of 'house arrest' for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
In a communication to journalists, his lawyer Genc Gjokutaj said the decision was expected because according to him this court has committed bigger violations.
He further said that they will appeal the decision made for Berisha.
The lawyer stated that not allowing communications is a deprivation of rights and freedoms for a deputy. Gjokutaj emphasized that authorization from the Assembly was needed.
"What is worrying is that this decision is accompanied by the ban on communication. For a deputy who has constitutional freedom, freedom of expression. It was expected that this court has committed greater violations. The decision was dry, prohibition of communication except for persons with family. He is in the apartment, we will follow the path of investigation according to the law. We do not know how it will proceed. House arrest is never accompanied by police supervision. The copy of the exemption request that we gave him..." said Berisha's lawyer, who left smiling.
