Shortly before the start of the session at the GJKKO, Sali Berisha's lawyers have announced that they have sent the next request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka, who according to them is in a serious conflict of interest.
Lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi said that the request was sent by mail yesterday at 3:30 p.m. The lawyer said that today he received the first decision of judge Rudina Palloi to reject the exemption. Meanwhile, he added that he notified the secretariat about the second request sent by mail.
" But I am waiting for the receipt of evidence on how Palloi was drawn in order to make the decision and judge Gjoka's opinion on the request ," he said.
This next maneuver by Berisha's lawyers will surely postpone the decision by GJKKO to arrest Berisha again.
We remind you that yesterday Berisha's lawyers did not file a request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka, since according to them, some decisions from GJKKO were not made available to you.
They have raised claims that they have new evidence that supports Berisha's request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka. According to them, the evidence they have shows that Gjoka is biased in this process.
" As we announced yesterday, the request for the dismissal of the judge has a deadline of 3 days. Today we received most of the evidence and the Court adjourned until 12:00 on the 30th to see the decision. Within the statutory time limit, we have received evidence that we believe supports the request for the judge's disqualification. It is the evidence that proves the bias of the judge.
