Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has spoken about the news that the DP is 'celebrating' that Berisha can travel to the US, only with exceptions as has been done for everyone else, but his non grata status remains in force.
Spahiu says that the question that journalist Caputo had published, citing, according to him, an answer he gave to DASH, is not related to the non-marital status at all. He indicates that the journalist's question was whether Berisha can obtain a travel permit and emphasizes that the visa and the lifting of the non-marital status are two different things.
"Same as the news they gave about the arrest and investigation of Yuri Kim. One week they welcomed Kim's investigation, calling him corrupt, non grata, calling him Rubio and DASH fired him and made him unemployed, then DASH had to deny it. There is no official news, not even on the DASH website, there is no note on Twitter or social networks from DASH officials and what is most important, neither the journalist's question, nor the source, nor the answer itself is related to non grata.
"He asked about the non grata status, but about the possibility of obtaining a travel visa to the US. The visa is one thing and the issue of non grata is another status. I think there are over 30 politicians or world leaders who have had and have non grata status and have traveled to the US, it cannot prevent them from participating in United Nations conferences or other diplomatic events ," Spahiu told "Report TV".
"If his non grata status had been lifted, why did Berisha go to Greece and Italy for the electoral campaign, but not to America for the immigrants?" concluded Kreshnik Spahiu.
The lawyer also said that American consultant Chris LaCivita had to justify millions of euros, the same for the lobbying company "Continental Strategy".
As for Berisha, he says he is satisfied that they have received a half-message to tell the electorate that I am not non grata, even though it is not true.
