The students of the University of Medicine have started today the protest announced for several days.
The students have unanimously gathered in front of the university premises, where as a sign of protest about the new law approved for the forced labor they have to do inside the country, they have boycotted the lesson again.
We remind you that this announced protest comes after the first day of the university where Medicine students boycotted the lesson by not entering the auditorium.
One of the protesting students said that the boycott of lessons will continue and that the law will be taken to the Constitutional Court. He also states that it is not the fault of the doctors who leave Albania, but it is the fault of the government that does not provide them with the conditions and security to work in our country.
"We are not only fighting for a right of ours. We have been protesting since July. This people who deserve so much to get the service they deserve. Not as it happens today, this is only the first day of the boycott. I hope that in the coming days we will be more, we will continue to constantly mention to the people and the government that medicine is the elite of this country. We are not traitors as they have often mentioned us in the studio. We are not the ones who waste the taxes of this people. We are the ones who sacrifice how many years of our lives just to prepare and serve the people in the most dignified way so that they don't suffer in hospitals, but to give them a life with dignity. It is very true that doctors leave, but this is the individual fault of those who leave and the fault of the state authorities, which do not provide them with conditions and security. said one of them.
The new law obliges newly graduated doctors to provide their service in Albania for a period of 5 years, before they receive the diploma for the completion of their studies.
The students have categorically rejected this law, considering it as unfair, while the case has also gone to the Constitutional Court.
