"You will have the fate of Noriega"/ Rada tells the episode in 1998:

The Albanian Parliament voted with 110 votes to represent Albania on the peace board.

Journalist Ardit Rada told ABC News that the opposition is trying to make Rama's path to the White House more difficult, and that it is an attempt to exploit the absence of a US ambassador in Albania. According to him, this makes it difficult for Washington's messages to reach the politicians in Tirana more clearly.

Rada further said that in addition to contributing and supporting the fight against crime or strengthening democracy, the American focus has been on investments, mentioning the wind farm in Tropoja and the visit of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

The journalist said that the claims that the US would take an Albanian politician by helicopter have only happened once. According to him, in '98, there was talk that someone could be kidnapped by the Americans and that person was Sali Berisha.

Rada points out that two American officials went to Berisha at the DP and gave him an ultimatum to remove the tanks he had placed in front of the headquarters or he would suffer the fate of Manuel Noriega in Panama. And so it happened, that 10 minutes later Berisha returned the tanks to the state, he said.

"It's not that the opposition doesn't understand the importance of the issue, but it's an attempt to make Rama's path to the White House more difficult. It's the same fable we heard when the justice reform was being voted on, that the DP is very concerned about sovereignty and the Constitution. Meanwhile, the US has been the guarantor of democracy in Albania for 100 years, even when Berisha was in the Party of Labor."

The claims that the US would take an Albanian politician by helicopter have only really happened once. It was only discussed in '98, in September, that someone could be kidnapped by the Americans and that was Sali Berisha. After he took two tanks and placed them in front of the headquarters on September 14, two American officials went to the DP and gave him an ultimatum to remove them or he would suffer the fate of Manuel Noriega in Panama. And so it happened, that Berisha returned the tanks to the state 10 minutes later.

"I don't know that a president on the one hand brings his daughter and son-in-law to Albania to invest and supports their visit, on the other hand takes the Prime Minister who will sign for his family's projects. Before the visit of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, there is the case of the photovoltaic park, that an American company received certification from Belinda Balluku for a wind farm in Tropoja. And these events show that Albania is doing everything to guarantee American business the climate that Washington requires," the journalist said.
