The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime announced yesterday that it has launched an investigation under the charge of abuse of office against the mayor of Kukës Safet Gjici, after the video scandal where he was filmed having sex with a girl in the office premises.
BalkanWeb learns that the SPAK prosecutor who is in charge of the investigation of Gjic, is Manjola Kajana, while as a basis for the investigations, everything from the register of entrances and exits to the municipality, up to film footage and documents have been considered.
The girl who is in the video of the mayor of Kukës has been identified, but there is still no information that she was interrogated.
We recall that Gjici resigned yesterday from his position as the first citizen of Kukës after the publication of the video-scandal, while he claimed that he was the victim of a well-thought-out trap.
He was reconfirmed in office after the May 14 elections.
Meanwhile, only a few hours later, the government announced his dismissal from office. After the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Minister Delina Ibrahimaj announced that the Council made the decision to dismiss him. / BW
