Tonin Vocaj has written a letter of thanks for his resignation from his post as director of the Tirana Police. Vocaj will be replaced by Elton Alush i.
While thanking all his colleagues for the work done in four years in this post, Vocaj highlighted the achievements of the police over the years.
Vocaj writes that the reduction of crimes in volume has been obvious, he also says that thefts have also decreased.
Vocaj says that thanks to the work of the police, the criminal situation in Tirana has seen significant stabilization.
Vocaj further emphasizes that "the cultivation of narcotic plants in the territory of the municipalities of Tirana, Kamëz and Vorë is almost non-existent."
"Thanks to your tireless cooperation and unparalleled dedication, the criminal situation in our city has seen significant stabilization. This year has recorded only 8 murders, of which only one case with an organized crime background, 7 murders discovered and documented with irrefutable legal evidence. (for the murder that happened on 13.11.2024, a special investigative group is working).
The reduction of crimes in volume has been evident, a significant reduction in thefts and criminal offenses against the person is evident. School safety and the uncompromising fight against drug dealers has been a constant in our work.
Likewise, this city has been visited by millions of tourists who, thank you, have found a safe environment. I would like to highlight the progress achieved in the Municipality of Kruja, which passed under our jurisdiction about a year and a half ago. The situation of order and security there is much more stabilized than before, and the cultivation of narcotic plants in the territory of the municipalities of Tirana, Kamëz and Vorë is almost non-existent", writes Vocaj.
