The legal defenders of the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, with the requests dismissed twice before for the exclusion of Judge Irena Gjoka from the judging panel with the claim that she was one-sided, have succeeded in postponing the decision-making session at GJKKO until Saturday.
In an interview for "Report TV", Lawyer Romeo Kara said that Berisha is trying to mythologize about the law but in the end he will face the security measure of house arrest and according to him he will be treated as a pre-detainee.
Berisha will now be treated normally as a detainee. It is being played in the procedural field to serve his political myth. The request for the dismissal of the judge does not take place. This judge dared. His lawyers are now playing hard on the procedural side, this shows that they have a fear for Berisha's status as well. They are waiting for a communication of accusations and they can then proceed to the judicial examination" , said the lawyer.
He also added that the process may be postponed again. According to him, the decision on Berisha can be made in the middle of next week.
" There may be an adjournment even on the adjourned day, the court may take 48 hours to consider it. Berisha cannot have more rights than others to be ineffectively pushed. A maximum of 48 hours will be required to see in writing what will be said there and make a decision. In the middle of next week, we will have solved this matter.
They didn't want to break the Berisha myth... that's why they didn't implement the first security measure. I put myself in his place and knowing his activity and him as a person, he says if I try to defend myself in court, I will be lost. So justice is killing idols and equalizing people. He says to himself how can they bring me to justice. He cannot accept it. And in this concept, lawyers have been powerless to tell you to do as we say. It's a procedural game that won't get them anywhere ," he added.
