After the publication of the scandal and the coverage it received in the Turkish media, the Albanian government removed the donation decision from the Official Website of the Prime Minister's Office and from the Official Gazette.
But Erdogan's decision to donate the Turkish state plane to Prime Minister Edi Rama, disguised as cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, has been considered a scandal by the Turkish media, which have also accused the executives of the public company "Turkish Airlines", denounced as an illegal business of the Erdogan family, of involvement in the bargain.
Following these accusations, Turkish Airlines executives reacted publicly:
"The news published in the media, which claims that our company has decided to donate an aircraft from its fleet to the Republic of Albania, does not reflect the truth. The aircraft in question has never been the property of our company and has been used only for operational needs."
But the official documents and contracts that "Pamfleti" is publishing prove that the plane that was donated to Edi Rama, disguised as a gift for the Ministry of Defense, is owned by the state-owned company "Turkish Airlines".
This aircraft has been in use by "Air Albania Sh.A.", where "Türk Hava Yolları AO" is a 49% partner and has been administered since October 2018, when it was created through a bargain between Edi Rama and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, introducing drug trafficker Sinan Idrizi as a partner with 41% of the shares and the Albanian Government with 10%.
In the agreement dated September 9, 2018 and in the Government Decision No. 530, dated September 11, 2018, for the creation of the company "Air Albania", it is stated that the partners are "Albcontrol", the national company "Turkish Airlines" and Sinan Idrizi's "MDN Investment".
The company "Türk Hava Yolları AO" is owned by "Turkish Airlines" and represents the latter as a partner in the company "Air Albania Sh.A.", which was using the aircraft that the Presidency of Turkey donated to the Ministry of Defense of Albania.
On November 7, 2025, Prime Minister Edi Rama signed the decision to accept a gift aircraft from the Presidency of Turkey worth $11.9 million, while the donation contract was signed on October 22 by the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, and the Secretary General of the Presidency of Turkey, Hakkı Susmaz.
If "Turkish Airlines" intends to hide the truth from the Turkish media and taxpayers, that is their problem; but in the decisions of the Albanian government and in the donation contract, the company appears as a party, a partner in "Air Albania" and the owner of the donated aircraft. / Pamphlet
