Arben Meçe, former DP MP in the 1992-1996 legislature, speaking about the 'Tropoja' file which is being investigated by SPAK after the Haklaj sisters' denunciation, accused former Prime Minister and DP leader, Sali Berisha, of being the cause of the conflict in Tropoja.
On Report TV, Meçe provided details from the well-known incident of the Haklaj mine explosion with a remote-controlled mine device.
According to Meçe, at that time the Albanian secret services did not have these types of mines, they were known to have been available to the Serbian services.
"During the Kosovo war, the war of services took place in the border territory of Albania. NATO service, our Secret Service and the Serbian service. Haklaj were the direct target of the Serbian service. If you look at Beqiri's denunciation, it was about the republican guard, because most of them were from Tropoja. Before, there was no tribal war and politics opened the tribal conflict. Politics in Tropoja was Berisha, Berisha brought violence and division to Tropoja. His influence came when he introduced his people as military personnel into the structures. There are two people who led the coup in '97 and are important people in '98. Don't forget, Haklaj was hit with remote-controlled mines and we didn't know about them. Only Serbia had remote-controlled mines ," said Meçe.
He further spoke about the event of the disarmament of the well-known 'Farku' battalion.
'Fark', according to Meçe, had the aim of starting a civil war after the liberation of Kosovo, but it was Haklaj who made it possible to stop this conflict.
" Kernaja was a NATO base and all services and plans were made there. We are in a period as a result of the war that Western countries are waging against Belgrade, it was obvious that that war would go towards the Albanian factor. In Germany, the main troops for the KLA were established and then they were turned into formations. If in Kosovo we have the KLA, in Albania Farku was operating in parallel and its line was unknown. They were ordered as they were to enter Kosovo and this would lead to civil war. This is where the merit of the Haklajs came in because Farku was disarmed by their tribe. Thanks to that intervention, Kosovo went into the hands of the liberators ," said Meçe.
