WHO published it, Alimehmeti: In Albania, high numbers are paid for health

Doctor Ilir Alimehmeti spoke about the latest report published by the WHO, which states that Albanian citizens pay 60% out of pocket for healthcare.

He said that in Albania it is a phenomenon to pay high numbers for health.

According to Alimehmet, if the minimum of 7% of GDP is not reached in the investment in Health, there can be no decrease in WHO figures.

"Let's ask the citizens themselves, they know their pockets much better. In Albania it is a phenomenon to pay high figures for health. There are some areas where there is progress, definitely.
Health does not generate money, it is paid for. We have 2.8% of GDP that we spend on health, the lowest level in Europe, on the other hand the highest spending in Europe for it. If we do not go to the minimum of 7% of the GDP to be invested and there are no abuses with them, the figures issued by the WHO will never decrease", said Alimehmeti in an interview for News 24.
